external subtitle problem

Postby arngrim » Tue Mar 24, 2009 12:11 pm

Hi,

First of all, thank you for this wonderful software, I'm using it nearby every day, but I have two regular problems, I'll talk about the other one later.

I have a problem using avisynth/mencoder with (any) external subtitles, I have the error corrupted data.

if I choose #transcode# and the subtitle I want, thus with mencoder alone, it works, but I need coreavc to boost the transcoding of 720p files.

I have even tried, a mkv with a extenal srt file, don't work, but if I use mkvmerge, insert the same srt (specify his language by the meantime) on the mkv, it works.

in the console, I have an arrayindexoutofbondsexception, but I can show the entire log if it is necessary.

Any help?

Thanks

you need vsfilter.dll ...
take a look at the traces tab, there's a message for you :)

Shagrath,

Be sure I already have vsfilter.dll, from directvobsub 2.39 (also tried previous versions but it is not better), because when there is a subtitle file in the mkv itself, the subtitles are displayed.

I just tried a simple avi with a srt with the same name as the avi, same error, here's the log :

ok.

So, if there's a srt in the directory of the avi, the ps3 displays avysinth/mencoder* external subtitles and when playing ==> corrupted data

But, if I remove the srt from the avi's directory, the ps3 displays avisynth/mencoder* and it works.

How can I configure avisynth to properly load the srt or idx/sub from the same directory of the movie?

I try to search on the forum but I can't find a solution

Voila,

I have checked in the entire debug.log and it says vsfilter.dll is missing from the avysinth/plugin folder

Now it is clear!

I have vsfilter registered in my computer but I didn't knew avisynth needed a vsfilter in his own folder.

So I have made a few tests this morning and it seems everything's working fine now :)

Thanks Shagrath
