New Executable / Help wanted

Hi
here's a new executable for launching ps3mediaserver on Windows. I'd be happy if you could test it and report back. Goals are the following:

- Test on any Windows 32 bits and automatic download/use of Java 32 bits
- Test on any Windows 64 bits and automatic download/use of Java 32 bits
and the new feature:
- Test on any Windows 64 bits and automatic use of Java 64 bits, if installed (no Java x64 automatic download for now)

Windows 7, java64 and java32 installed.

Windows is detected as 32bit, and I would assume it is using the 32bit java as well, despite java64 being installed as well.

Vista x64 detected as x86.

However I can confirm when used in combination with the latest beta it stops trying to redownload Java every time it's opened.

Thanks for all the hard work on this.

Using the .618 install with this new exe, a fresh install of Java x64 on Vista x64 I get this in the log.

Using the stock .618 install it downloaded Java 6 Update 10 32 bit (even though Update 12 is the latest).

So it seems to be fixed, for me at least.

Works fine here as well, though (and this has been the same with all versions) it still notices my 64bit vista install as x86.

Got Java installed as x64 and x86-Version.

It recognize the x64-Version.
The OS is also recognized as a x64-Version.

Works great for me.. Testing it more....

So I decided to run a media scan on a large collection of MP3, FLAC, picture and video files to see how it works.
I've attached a snapshot of the process 11 hours after I started it. It seems to be having a huge number
of page faults and using a ton of memory and threads.

Have you watched your application with Process Monitor before? PSM seems to be constantly rereading the
entire medias.data.db file - which in my case is around 500MB currently. This can't be good for performance.

Also I have to ask, what is being scanned for in this process? If it's looking for ID3 tags and thumbnails,
then I have to believe that this shouldn't take days to complete.

Vista x64, Core i7 920, 6GB RAM, fast disks...

if you have your database folder since the first versions..
try this:

- backup your current database folder
- delete all the content in the database folder
- start pms
- rebuild database

it helps for me..
