I was trying out the latest release (620) and the media library scan is significantly faster, which is nice.
Unfortunately I noticed that if you do an initial scan, and then rescan, the database doubles in size.
It would seem that it isn't remembering what is in the database already, its just appending the data
to whatever is already there.

Also I'll ask again, what exactly is going into the database (ID3 tags, thumbnails, etc.)?

Is there any mechanism for PSM to know when content has been moved or changed, so the database
is kept up to date?

Now it's working fast. No troubles with multiple directories.
Just two questions:
1 - using media library the album art is not showing. Is it possible to fix this?
2 - is it possible to add album year to media library choices?
