Sony BDV-E970W - DLNA access Failed

Postby Profwalken » Sun Jan 30, 2011 12:48 pm

Hello,

i've installed a new Sony BDV-E970W Blu ray home Theatre system with DLNA capabilities. In front of my Sony system i've a freenas server v0.72 build 5543.

first I've tried to make them communicate with fuppes server (embedded on freenas) with DLNA profile validate, but each time i obtain same message on sony side :"host does not support DLNA" failed .

i've done a system update coming from sony now version is up to date (no change for my problem).

i' ve found a post about PS3MS on google, so i DL complete package file including version pms-linux-1.10.5.tgz and install it on my freenas server , no problems for install using tutorial here

after that i deactivate fuppes on freenas and try with PS3MS only, and nothing change one more time same message on sony side :"host does not support DLNA" failed .

My questions:
Do you know if it's possible to use DLNA with my sony system?
if yes, what can i do to solve my problem?

thank's for your help and idea to check,

sorry for mistakes i'm french
best regards,
Profwalken

Check with the UPnP tools.

Hi Meskibob,
thank's for help but i didn't understand what i have to do with all the links in post you point to me. If i'm right you want i install upnp tools at end of post to check what? it seems to be sotware for windows and freenas server is linux freebsd solution.

News from this afternoon, i DL the last beta version 1.20.412 and replace it on freenas, now something has changed on Sony side , the PS3MS server on freenas is seen and connected to Sony , i can see on TV each item icon (photo, video, audio) but when i choose one item it try to connect to server for content access and a few time after i obtain error message with impossible to start server.

to resume, there's a small progress with latest beta version but not enough to work.
Do you have any new idea ?
Other precision, i'm newbie in linux problems , so if you give me some tests to execute , give some details please.

Thank's a lot ,
Best regards
