I use this configuration provided earlier in the thread:
Code: Select all
# ps3mediaserver renderer profile for Samsung TVs with AllShare DLNA
# Conf: Version 1.4.4

RendererName=Samsung AllShare

# ====================================================
# Reported headers:
# User-Agent: SEC_HHP_[HT]D5500/1.0
# User-Agent: SEC_HHP_[TV]UE32D5000/1.0
# User-Agent: SEC_HHP_ Family TV/1.0
# User-Agent: SEC_HHP_[TV]PS51D6900/1.0
# User-Agent: DLNADOC/1.50 SEC_HHP_[TV]UE32D5000/1.0
# User-Agent: DLNADOC/1.50 SEC_HHP_[TV]UN55D6050/1.0
# User-Agent: DLNADOC/1.50 SEC_HHP_ Family TV/1.0
# Note: the "[TV]PS51D6900" is the default type name.
# It can be edited via the TV menu into any string.
# ====================================================

# Recent firmware (0016 and 0019) has been reported to no longer send additional headers info
# Leaving this in for backwards compatibility with older firmware

On a UE55D8005 with a lot of success, except for thumbs and subtitles - and now the fact that i can't get it to play .ts files. 1080i TV shows are usually .ts. Any ideas for this?

Hi everyone - Has anyone had any success using PS3 Media Server with a Sumsung UA32ES6200?

Although there is some great information in these threads (and thanks all for providing this), I'm still at a loss. The PMS server can see the TV, but the TV does not detect the server. I have had success using AllShare and Plex Media Server, but as I'm sure most will agree PS3 Media Server is a far superior product and I would much prefer to use PS3 MS if I can get it working.

I running latest version of PMS and 1.4.4 SamsungAllShare config file. I've tried tweaking the config file, but still nothing. Let me know if I can provide any additional information that might assist.

Try the PMS.jar file here: viewtopic.php?f=15&t=14206&start=10#p68866

We've got 3 from 3 successes on 2012 model Samsung TVs. Make sure PMS isn't running when you copy this file over. And untick HTTP v2 server, save, and Quit and restart PMS.

make it 7 - works with my PN60E8000!!

For those on a Mac (and prolly a n00b) like myself who couldn't find where the jar was supposed to go initially, simply do this:
1. Open Finder
2. Go to Applications
3. Right click on PS3 Media Server and Show Package Contents
4. replace the pms-1.52.1.jar file in Resources -> Java -> repo -> net -> pms -> pms -> 1.52.1

Not sure if it matters, but I moved the original to trash, copied over the new pms.jar and renamed it to pms-1.52.1.jar and everything works now!!

About subtitles (.srt / .sub) support on samsung tv + ps3m, what's new ? What about now ? On my side, still not support and not working.

If someone has a trick about that, please share it :-)

I had problems with .srt subtitles on my Samsung LE40C650,too. But I found the solution now. Update your server version and the Allshare.conf. I was still using version 1.50 but latest Allshare.conf. Switching to 1.52.1 solved the problem mainly. Here are the details:

Version 1.52.1
Samsung Allshare config file provided with this version

Only tested this for .mkv files. The samsung tvs can't read the .srt files included in the .mkv. You have to use external .srt file.
The .srt file sould be in the same folder as the .mkv using the same filename. Should look like this now:

Have a look to the transcode settings. Although this should have no influence, because the external .srt file should be streamed, too:
There is a checkmark called "ignore subtitles completely" or something. Uncheck this. There should be also a checkmark "load .srt subtitles with same name automatically" or something. This has to be checked.

On your TV it should look like this now:
moviename{External subtitles} if you have browsed to the movie to be played.

Use mkvtoolnix to remove included subtitles from .mkv
Use mkvextractgui2 to extract the .srt out of the .mkv

I'm currently not home. I will have a closer look today evening.

Thanks, with the last version, external subtitles .srt work fine !

Summary :
How to support subtitles .srt on Samsung TV with PS3MS :
- in tab « Transcoding settings »
------- in “Common transcode settings”, UNCHECK “definitely disable subtitles”
------- in “Mencoder”, check “Automatically load *.srt…”
- rename the subtitles files as the movie file : + MyFilmHD.mkv
- restart server, for apply the changes about name of files
- play video : the name of movie will be : MyFilmHD.mkv {external subtitles}

Note : the method work fine with .MKV or .MP4 but only with subtitles .SRT and only after restart server.
