Sumsung Galaxy Tab

Discuss alternative media renderers (not PS3) supported by PS3 Media Server (e.g. Xbox 360, TVs &c.)

Sumsung Galaxy Tab

Postby r3pek » Fri Oct 22, 2010 12:33 am

Hi, I just got my hands on a Galaxy Tab. I've been trying to get PS3 Media Server to stream anything at all to it. The thing is that I can't even browse the folder that I share (and can see and use on my PS3).

Here's the debug.log:

I've given up on using AllShare on the Galaxy Tab to stream from PMS. I don't think it follows any sort of DLNA/uPNP standards. That's Sammy for ya ;)

But I've had some success using UpnPlay from the Android Market, along with VPlayer Beta.

Here's the renderer config I'm using for VPlayer. It seems to work, although I'd like to do some tweaking to the transcoding eventually.

Code: Select all
# ps3mediaserver renderer profile for Samsung Galaxy Tab
# Refer to PS3.conf for help

RendererName=Samsung Galaxy Tab Vplayer
RendererIcon=bravia.png
UserAgentSearch=Lavf52.88.0
Video=true
Audio=false
Image=false
SeekByTime=true
TranscodeVideo=MPEGAC3
TranscodeAudio=PCM
DefaultVBVBufSize=false
MuxH264ToMpegTS=true
MuxDTSToMpeg=true
WrapDTSIntoPCM=false
MuxLPCMToMpeg=false
MaxVideoBitrateMbps=0
MaxVideoWidth=0
MaxVideoHeight=0
MimeTypesChanges=audio/wav=audio/L16|video/x-matroska=video/avi|video/x-ms-asf=video/x-msvideo
MediaInfo=true
Supported=f:avi|divx v:mp4|divx|mjpeg a:mp3|lpcm|mpa|ac3 m:video/x-msvideo  qpel:no gmc:0

Nice work! Using your profile, I've been able to stream SD video content to my rooted Nook Color. No luck with downscaling HD video (the Nook Color's hardware MPEG4 decoder tops out at 854x480), but it's definitely better than anything I managed on my own.

Hi,

I've also tried with AllShare but nothing.... It always says "no items".
So I tried with UpnPlay and Vplayer (Free Trial).
I haven't touch any .conf files and it works fine. It stream full HD videos, SD content, ... without any problems.

Thanks to the PMS team, it's a wonderful app ;-)

Daweed60,

thats really good news! Please would you be so kind as to specify the exact versions of all the components you used?
I'm trying to stream to a Nexus1 (Froyo 2.2) with UpnPlay and Ps3Mediaserver (latest SVN version), without any luck. No folders are visible on the "Server" upnplay screen, allthough I can see the M-SEARCH requests from the Android device showing up on the debug.log of PMS.

Thanks!

PS3MS is in 1.20.409 version and upnplay is in the latest version.
i don't know why it doesn't with you... I give this tips on another forum and everybody try to stream content... Good luck!
