Sony BDV-E970W AVR (unsupported format)

Postby Scrooge » Sat Aug 14, 2010 6:34 pm

Hi all,

Does anyone of you have the new Sony BDV-E970W AVR? I just bought it and it shows PS3 Media Server right away, but it can´t play anything. No video, no tunes, no picuters. It´s all unsupported format, although it should even play .mkv natively. I´ve tried multiple Servers, but only Windows Media Server works. It would be awesome if Ps3 media server would work! Anyone working on this specific model?

Have you tried the BDP-S370 patch I posted?

They are both Sony devices, so it is possible the renderer code is similar/identical and might be affected by the exact same bug?

Try it and post the results - it would be interesting to know if the same bug affects more devices as it might increase the chances of it getting into the trunk build.

I'll go look for another server. PS3MS looks pretty dead.
