No problem. All the best, it may be a steep learning curve. :)

Or you can test this build:
viewtopic.php?f=15&t=9882&start=30#p48281
When you will add this to renderer.conf
Code: Select all
AnalyzeAllBeforeFolderShown = true
MediaInfo = true

it will start to communicate strictly by DLNA specs.
Maybe it can help when you will add it to your renderer.conf for Sony BDP.

hi ExSport
I think that sounds like a great plan for a ubernewbie on the coding things..
so I download and install the file on your googlepage and then add those two lines in the Renderer folder ?
many thanks!

update: I tried the ExSport version.
unfortunately it results in that s480 can't see the server at all. Tried both with and without the additions for the PMS.conf file.

when I use the official 1.21.0 build the server can be seen and I can browse around but I still can't play and files..

I imagine that its because the User Agent string is different on the BDP-Sx80 players and/or there is a section in the player's settings to search for DLNA servers that needs to be used before they will appear on the XMB.

Definitely you don't know what is renderer.conf ;)
Every client must have own conf file as ps3.conf, panasonic.conf etc.
You need to have bdp.conf present in renderer folder.
From start you can use already created one here in forum. But as grolschie said, maybe your client uses another "user agent string" so it have to be changed in bdp.conf file.
But to be sure where is the problem we need debug.log which you didn't posted ;)

ahh sorry - as stated I'm really on new on this .. and very very happy that you guys offer to help :)

I did have those other .conf files in the renderer folder actually.
Will try again with the additional info you mentioned ExSport in the bdp.conf file (copy / paste from earlier in this thread).

I added the BDP conf file and put the two lines in as you mentioned ExSport. Also amended the UserAgent info to this based on the debuglog in the PMS folder:
UserAgentAdditionalHeaderSearch=(av=5.0; cn="Sony Corporation"; mn="Blu-ray Disc Player"; mv="2.0")

The server is now seen on the BDP - but the files still don't play.

Will post my log and conf file.

Btw: I noticed that there is a new official build out - would that be including the patchwork done by you guys in this thread ?
