Thanks WorldOfHurt. What command do you use to patch this? I put the patch in the ps3mediaserver directory and used: "patch -p0 < size-limit-input-stream.r486.diff" but that gave errors about not finding files and possibly using the wrong -p or --strip option. It put the SizeLimitInputStream.java in the io folder though.

I patched it using the "make patch" tool in Eclipse (Subclipse plugin)... perhaps I used the wrong option somewhere - it was nearly 1am when I did it.

I'll generate another patch later.

Sorry for the inconvenience ;)

Just tried it and the patchfile worked ok in Eclipse.

Are you using Linux? If so, you might need to do a dos2unix on the diff file first, to remove crlf markers?

I am using Windows XP. I was using GNUWin32's Patch (version 2.5.9) to apply the patch. Interestingly, I applied it just now using TortoiseSVN's "Apply patch" feature and it worked. Many thanks. :-)

Ok, so I tried manually applying the patch I submitted earlier (building on WorldOfHurt's previous patches, and now his latest patch) to version 487. After compiling I notice a few bad things:
1). LPCM now comes out of the speakers as digital distortion i.e. my amp is not decoding it. Maybe there have been changes since 412 that deal with LPCM? EDIT: Sorted. LPCM has been renamed to WAV in the renderer config.

2). The Web folders have disappeared for Photos, Music, Videos. EDIT: Sorted. web.conf and pms.conf are in a different location now.

BTW, TortoiseSVN's "Create patch" function is really nice, easy and quick. :-)

Hi WorldofHurt and grolschie,

I have tried both your patches (just making sure I can still stream to PS3 before buying S370 for another room) and have come up with the following results:

[*]Clean r500 builds and streams to PS3 fine
[*]WoH's 487 patch patches successfully against any revision I try after 487, streams to PS3 fine
[*]grolschie's BDP-Sx70 v2 patch patches successfully against revisions 494 and later, however will not stream to PS3. It seems to be a generic HTTP issue as the icon for PS3 Media Server doesn't come up on the XMB, no video thumbnails and any video I try (xvid in AVI container, x264 in MKV container, MPEG2) results in a "The data is corrupted" error. When I took out the -1 content length changes in the patch AVIs played fine but not MKV files. (Transcode vs non-transcode?)

PS3 Media Server is running on Windows 7 x64, compiled with Apache Ant 1.8.2. I used TortoiseSVN's "Apply Patch" context option to patch the source tree.

Hope this helps!

I need to detect for the BDP-Sx70 in the code, and then make the changes only affect that device. Hopefully I will get some time to do this soon.
