Got this working in OSX (not tested fully, but it's playing) - fantastic job WorldOfHurt

Can I please get a good set of direction to compile the patch into the linux version? I have used the BDP-S370 conf file posted earlier, I get the connection to the BD player and can see the files from the server; just nothing will play. There were some instruction posted here earlier, but they are for Windows. If it make any diff, I am running opensuse 11.3 64 bit.

BUILD SUCCESSFUL

The app runs, but I keep getting the 'no playable file' error on video and picture are just a graphic broken thingy.

I should have said, I did get some errors when patching, although only two or three, so I ended up making the edits by hand.

Have you created a .conf file for the player in the renders folder?

@wilkerjnc: Right now you're getting '...BUILD SUCCESSFUL' on an unpatched version of ps3ms.

Converting source and patch files from dos to unix format should fix things in linux:
Code: Select all
# install 'tofrodos' package if you don't have it already (also called 'dos2unix' in some distros)
sudo apt-get install tofrodos

# in svn source 'ps3mediaserver' folder,  reformat the patch file
fromdos ps3ms-410-content-range.patch

# ...reformat source files in the 'net/pms' subfolder
find net/pms -name '*.java' -exec fromdos {} \;

# ...apply the patch
patch -p0 < ps3ms-410-content-range.patch

My SonyBDPS370.conf file that I think I got from this site:

From this:
# install 'tofrodos' package if you don't have it already (also called 'dos2unix' in some distros)
sudo apt-get install tofrodos
# in 'ps3mediaserver' folder....
# reformat the patch file
fromdos ps3ms-410-content-range.patch
# reformat source files in the 'net' subfolder
find net/pms -name *.java -exec fromdos {} \;
# apply the patch
patch -p0 < ps3ms-410-content-range.patch

From the pms-generic-linux-unix-1.20.409-BETA.tgz I do not have a /net subfolder. Where does this come from? Thanks.

OK, I did the reformatting of the *.java files in the /net subfolders that I found in the PMS_Build subfolder, re-ran ant and no errors this time. Pictures work but video does not. Perhaps a problem with my *.conf file now (I think the one I got is still under dev to some degree here).

Try patters' first conf file. His updated conf didn't work for me either, possibly due to regional variations (? mine is USA) .

Also, I haven't tested rigorously but so far all video #_TRANSCODE_# streams fail with corrupted/not-supported error in the BDP-S370. Supported formats play fine.
