But the thing is- I am trying view them with "Definitely Disable Subtitles" turned on. I am using 1.30.1 on linux.

Edit: Apparently this was a bug in that build as it seems to be fixed in "PMS SubJunk Build 36".

You assume correct. If your Bravia is detected as unknown renderer, it means none of the .conf files managed to match the incoming requests.
Looking at the "Bravia4500.conf" and "Bravia5500.conf", the TVs are detected by examining the additional headers:

The trick is to find out what header information your TV is sending and then add that tot the UserAgentAdditionalHeaderSearch.
To see (a lot!) more information from PMS, you can set the debug level to "TRACE" in "logback.xml". Restart PMS, connect your TV and scan the trace logs for "X-AV-Client-Info" to find the information you need.

Hi, I'm new to this forum so I'll try to post my question as clear as possible, if there are any remarks/questions please say so.

I got a Sony Bravia BDV-E380 (Blu-Ray Set), which I want to use with the ps3 media server, as all other DLNA options do not fit my needs.
Unfortunately PS3mediaserver is unable to detect my Sony Bravia BDV-E380 (not even with the IP address set by hand).
I only found 1 other asking about this set on the forum, but never an answer. I hope my question is more complete to get an answer to.

EDIT:
Reading this post about a BDV-E370.
I tried, as the thread suggested, the ExSport build and that got my system detected bij the PMS as a "Unknown Renderer". (YEAH!!!)
Unfortunately the .conf as posted by Infidel didn't work for my system.
Any pointers as where to look for clues now?

Using the SonyBluray.conf and changing the UserAgentAdditionalHeaderSearch to "UserAgentAdditionalHeaderSearch=HOME THEATRE SYSTEM", got the system detected.
I'm now trying to work out what works and what doesn't.
A simple .mkv works fine.
Got several DVD's in .iso format, some are detected, some not but none will play at the moment. Seems an transcode thing. But I haven't got much experience with the program to figure out if it's a .conf setting or a transcode setting, or both, or neither...
Am I in the correct forumthread still for this problem?

I have an Asus o!Play hdp-r1 that is correctly recognized by psm (i just removed the POSIX keyword from Popcorn Hour's conf file and added |HDP_Air as it seems that latest firmware identifies itself like this).

I'm using pms-generic-linux-unix-1.31.0-b1.tgz

All works perfectly except for the subtitles. I indeed have the .srt with the same filename in the .avi directory (in fact I have three of them, also tested with just one) but the subtitles menu on the device does not allow me to turn it on. It seems like it doesn't detect the presence of the file from the start.

I don't know if its relevant but pms is serving the file with the {External Subtitles} tag at the end (I have checked definitely disable subtitles in the pms conf).

I suspect the problem is somehow related to psm blocking the device access to the .srt file. If i play the file via samba instead of upnp it works flawlessly. Prehaps some option to make pms ignore the .srt file instead of processing it hiding it from the device option that I'm missing ?

I'm using Sub Junk build 1.31.0-SB38 and trying to play Vob files to a Sony Bravia KDL-40Z5800 using the Bravia 5500 conf. But each time I hit play I get subtitles in French and the audio is out of step with the video. The same vob files play just fine in WMP11.

Where do I start to look to fix this please? Subtitles are all turned of in PS3MS, in fact I've got the 'Definitley disable subtiltes' box checked.

Before reporting a bug it's best to update to the latest version Especially since in the last 2 SubJunk Builds I have fixed some VOB problems, so maybe your problem is fixed
