Official thread for non-ps3 renderers (Bravia, etc.)

Discuss alternative media renderers (not PS3) supported by PS3 Media Server (e.g. Xbox 360, TVs &c.)

Will investigate further and report findings.

It's not Mplayer problem.
In BRAVIA's, maximum bitrate depends on streamed container. I was streamed transcoded .mpeg (MPEG2-PS container) and .m2ts (MPEG2-TS container) files, and I get following results:
PS container: 20Mbps
TS container: 50Mbps
so, for MEncoder stream maximum is 20Mbps, and for tsMuxer maximum is 50Mbps

regarding xbr6 documentation this tv is only capable of streaming photos as dlna client - no audio, no video...
I provide NO application support via PM, so please post your question to the forum.

in the latest version, you can transcode with mencoder (I mean full transcode with subtitles and such) to mpegts, just change in the renderer conf file:

TranscodeVideo=MPEGTSAC3

mencoder ts muxer is somewhat flawed though, results are not perfect on media renderers I tried (but maybe it's ok on the bravia)

If TranscodeVideo=MPEGTSAC3 option is set, then DLNA.ORG_PN=MPEG_TS_SD_EU_ISO must be send (now is DLNA.ORG_PN=MPEG_PS_PAL).

Has anyone tried streaming to the LG BD390? I'll be getting one tomorrow so just wondering. I guess if all else fails I can use the Nero software that comes with it but I would rather keep things simple. I guess I'll find out tomorrow.

Haha, I guess not.

I have an LG 390 that I'm also trying to get to work with PS3MS. I cobbled together a .conf file for it:

Code: Select all
#------------------------------------------------------------
# ps3mediaserver profile for LG BD390
# DO NOT MODIFY THIS (OR AT YOUR OWN RISK)

#------------------------------------------------------------
# General informations / detection

RendererName=LG BD390
RendererIcon=test.png

#UserAgent: regular expression to detect the connected renderer
UserAgentSearch=LG_DLNA_SDK

#UserAgentAdditionalHeaders: additional http header for better detection
#UserAgentAdditionalHeader=X-AV-Client-Info
#UserAgentAdditionalHeaderSearch=PLAYSTATION

#Basic capabilities
Video=true
Audio=true
Image=true

#------------------------------------------------------------
# DLNA settings

#Use the DLNA feature seek by time and not by range
SeekByTime=true

#------------------------------------------------------------
# Transcoding/Muxing capabilities
#

#Transcode codecs for video and audio engines
#currently supported: MPEGAC3 or WMV for video, PCM or MP3 for audio
TranscodeVideo=MPEGAC3
TranscodeAudio=PCM

#Use default DVD buffer size: false = greater bitrate and faster encoding,
#but can generate incompatible videos, depends of your media renderer
DefaultVBVBufSize=false

#Muxing capabilities: Does the media renderer supports H264 and MPEG2 in a mpegts file ?
MuxH264ToMpegTS=true

#Does the media renderer supports DTS in a mpeg file ?
MuxDTSToMpeg=false

#Does the media renderer supports DTS wrapped into LPCM in a mpeg file ?
WrapDTSIntoPCM=true

#Does the media renderer supports LPCM in a mpeg file ?
MuxLPCMToMpeg=true

#Maximum bitrate supported by the media renderer (0=unlimited)
MaxVideoBitrateMbps=0

#Max Width and Height supported by the media renderer (0=unlimited)
MaxVideoWidth=0
MaxVideoHeight=0

#------------------------------------------------------------
# Misc Files

# Mime types transforms (oldmime=newmime|olemime2=newmime2|...)
MimeTypesChanges=video/avi=video/x-divx

# Extensions management: no need to put something here, as the server's default configuration is tuned for ps3
# What extensions are forcefully transcoded
TranscodeExtensions=
# What extensions are forcefully streamed as is (and not transcoded)
StreamExtensions=

PS3MS sees the device, but immediately throws an exception:

I'm sure that some of the .conf file is wrong (I only changed a few bits from the PS3 version), but this is the same error I got before I created the .conf file, only then it was "Unknown renderer" on the main screen.

I'm using 1.11.347

Thanks,

it should be fixed in next revision (until the next one, as for each new media renderer :p)

weird, I don't see anything in the code who would cause this (see line 635 of DLNAResource.java)
