Discuss alternative media renderers (not PS3) supported by PS3 Media Server (e.g. Xbox 360, TVs &c.)

Having issues with the above TV.

PS3 connects to the ps3mediaserver on ubuntu 12.04 with no problems whatsoever.

The TV however doesn't register that the server exists at all. It does see my NAS (a DNS323) which shares some media over the network.

All on the same wired network, although the TV is on the otherside of a powerline adaptor, but both can see the internet with no problem, the router is also on the otherside of a powerline connection for both of them, and the server can ping the TV. So doesn't sound like a physical connection problem.

Anybody got some clever ideas?
(PS fairly new to linux, and very new to ps3mediaserver)

THe trace log is showing no attempt from the TV to connect at all as far as I can tell.

The TV is on 192.168.1.8, the DNS on 192.168.1.7 and the PS3 on 192.168.1.7.
I see notifty messages from the server and the DNS323 (192.168.1.5 and 192.168.1.7 respectively), connections from the PS3 but absolutely nothing from 192.168.1.8

I assume if its picked up the uPNP notify the TV is supposed to at least look at the server and that would be logged?

I notice the DNS323 is using notify on port 1900 and the ps3mediaserver on several ports, is that normal behaviour?

Solved.

I went into the routers uPNP settings, increasing the number of hops allowed seems to have sorted this.

Although now it displays the first 50-60 secs of video no problem then starts stuttering like mad. Not sure if its a network performance issue (no such problem on the PS3) or something else. I shall investigate more.
