PS3 to SONY BDP-S370 2 problems

Postby jamesd1 » Tue Jul 10, 2012 8:27 pm

I'm running Win 7 with lastest ver of ps3.

I'm using ps3 to play .vob files form my computer through SONY BDP-S370.

TWO PROBLEMS:

They play but the quality is very poor. (parts break up into fain thatch-work of squares. (I can play an mpeg file with perfect quality.)

When I try to fast forward it says "prohibited" even though I can fast forward the same file transferred to my Tivo.

I tried turning off transcode by entering .vob in the "skip transcode" but that did not affect it.

I'm just guessing here, but you might want to check what formats the S370 supports. Check out this thread: viewtopic.php?f=15&t=6930&start=20. I just tried streaming .vob to a BDP-S470, and it had to transcode but played fine. Playback controls were limited to play/stop, no fast-forward or reverse was allowed.
