There is a problem with the PS3 compatibility detection for AVC video in build 1.10.625.

It seems that with build 1.10.625 about 50% of my compliant mkv files (AVC+AC3 in mkv) are transcoded to mpg2 even when there is no need to transcode them. I don't remember having this problem with build 1.10.5.

When I go to the PS3 #transcoding# menu and select [remux with tsmuxer] the files play fine with AVC.

I have also tried to disable subtitles so it won't transcode to mpg2, but it doesn't help... PS3MS still insists on transcoding the AVC streams.

Although the problem also happens with some 720p files, it seems to happen the most with 1080p mkv (AVC) files.

Media library is working, but not so good:
1 - Some albums are missing (from w to z it seems there are no artist/album)
2 - If you open an album in media library, the order of the tracks not always is right (so it starts from third then 5 then 10, and so on...)
3 - In media library there are non album arts
I'm working with 625 build, on a AMD dual core, with windows xp and 4 GB ram.

javac is from the java-gcj package. Is svn 328 building correctly for everyone else?

Yup.

When you install ant with yum on fedora it installs a slew of dependencies, which would make you think that they installed whatever was necessary. But Fedora doesn't install java-1.6.0-openjdk-devel, which is needed to build pms.

Four months ago I had the same problem on another machine, but completely forgot about it

In any event, if you install java-1.6.0-openjdk, all those "override a superclass method" errors go away.

BTW, on F11 at least, installing the Sun 6 jdk does NOT fix it. Puzzling.

seems strange what your are saying, im using ubuntu sun jdk 1.6 withou any errors on PMS .. and maybe it can be port for backward compatibilty in jdk 1.5 .. if you wish i can try to do it. (i haven't seen yet specifique code to 1.6 only dirty annotation)

Dunno if anyone else has reported this problem with 1.10.625, I have just installed this on my new Mandriva 2009.1 setup. If I run it as a user everything seems fine.
If I set Mandriva to run it at startup, rather than reporting that it has found my PS3 it says it had found and unknown renderer. 1.10.5 works fine when set to run at startup.

Thanks for a great program, I was using Mediatomb, but this is so much better
