I am under the impression they (shagrath and Redlum) are letting r410 sit to see if it's good for an official release....
but I could be wrong on that ;)

I would repost your issue in its own thread instead of nested in here. It'll get more visibility.

I also hope they don't release it yet... Its more stable than the current released version but I hope they wait for a new Mplayer ASS Fix and then update it and if possible, add a properly support for the lastest versions of Java, since we're getting the following error:
Not enough memory to allocate xxxxxxxxx bytes... Using half of it

I'm having some troubles with the latest buildt. (410) I'm running Ubuntu Linux. It's stable an all, but suddenly several of my AVI's need transcoding and they did not need to be transcoded before the update. And when transcoding A/V is way out of sync, so I'm left with quite a big library of AVI's that are unwatchable throught pms.

As a sidenote, the AVI's works if copied to a external HDD and played directly on the PS3. ;)

FIXED IT!!!

I went into my XBOX360.conf and tweaked these two settings:

Code: Select all
DefaultVBVBufSize=false
MaxVideoBitrateMbps=0

The buffer fills faster than it ever has before (even faster than 1.10.51) and all my videos still play fine. As soon as I change those two settings back the issue with the buffer filling extremely slowly returns. When only one tweak is applied without the other the buffer fills significantly faster versus the defaults, but not near as fast when both tweaks are applied.

Thanks. This did the trick for me!

Hallo,

Since the last post (see viewtopic.php?f=14&t=919&p=30290#p30290)
I made further tests with the following configuration:
* Version tested: Java PS3 Media Server v1.20.410
* XP with SP 3
* Sony Bravia KDL 32V5500, firmware PKG1.730EA
* Java build 1.6.0_20-b02

I used the plugin pmsencoder-1.0.1.jar for the webstreaming, it works for youtube, not for Dailymotion.

I also noticed that in the Bravia5500.conf file using TranscodeVideo=MPEGTSAC3 I can play the mpgs files correctly (see below the description), without the 2 seconds time difference as mentioned before. But with this option, the ISO files aren't played correctly: it stops after 3 or 4 seconds and jumps to the next file.

Using TranscodeVideo=MPEGAC3 all the ISO are correctly played, but not the mpg files like this:

General
Complete name : \testfiles\testmpg2.mpg
Format : MPEG-PS
File size : 53.2 MiB
Duration : 42s 566ms
Overall bit rate : 10.5 Mbps

Video
ID : 224 (0xE0)
Format : MPEG Video
Format version : Version 1
Format settings, BVOP : No
Format settings, Matrix : Default
Duration : 42s 566ms
Bit rate mode : Variable
Bit rate : 10.0 Mbps
Width : 640 pixels
Height : 480 pixels
Display aspect ratio : 4:3
Frame rate : 30.000 fps
Resolution : 8 bits
Scan type : Progressive
Bits/(Pixel*Frame) : 1.086
Stream size : 50.8 MiB (95%)

Audio
ID : 192 (0xC0)
Format : MPEG Audio
Format version : Version 1
Format profile : Layer 2
Duration : 42s 300ms
Bit rate mode : Constant
Bit rate : 64.0 Kbps
Channel(s) : 1 channel
Sampling rate : 32.0 KHz
Stream size : 330 KiB (1%)
* Current version installed: pms-setup-windows-1.21.0-SB16.exe
* XP with SP 3
* Sony Bravia KDL 32V5500, firmware PKG1.741EA
* Java build 1.6.0_24-b07
* PMSencoder 1.4.0

It's been very long (3.5 months) since the last 'official' beta, how's the progress coming along?
