I fully agree. That should be the aim.
PS3 Media server is already a great piece of software, but it could be improved by more developers, testers and by the community.

What is about the issue list at http://code.google.com/p/ps3mediaserver/issues/list ??
Are these bugs obsolete? Is it possible to implement this kind of list for the community/SubJunk build?

Also I wanted to see .PATCH files because sometimes it is very hard to imagine what your changes want to say, what does it mean
In code sometimes is more clear what was changed, what was added than from changelog.
Keep up good work! Now everybody can check your changes and maybe it will help you to find any bugs with others...but for it it is maybe better to make .PATCH file against latest official build than big SVN site. Patch file is more clear because only changes are visible

I understand that it would be a bit easier if I provided patches, but it is still easy for you to checkout the code and make your own patches, and it means I can spend more time doing what matters (making the program better) and less time with the other stuff (making patches, writing changelogs, uploading, etc.)
The more little things I have to do for each release, the less motivation I have to release them, so I think it is better for everyone that I keep the little things to a minimum. I'm sure you understand as a fellow developer

or even a googlecode page it has everything. we could report bugs on that.. though personally i still prefer doing it forum style.. i always have a feeling tickets never get checked lol

I think it's OK to just have people do forum posts for now for my build. I also am reluctant to set up a long-term thing like an issue tracker for this build because I hope I can become an official developer soon and no longer make this build. I see this build as temporary, hopefully.

Can you tell me -please- which build of yours is the most complete at the moment? I tried the last builds (1.20.412.1, 1.20.412 build 1.0.1., builds SB5,SB6 & SB7) but it seems the more recent version I use, the more problems with (dutch) subs en dvd ts-video I've got.
MKV's seem to work the best now (on notice that there's a "2 seconds pauze" every 4 till 12 minutes during playback). There's no dry buffer or CPU overload during this strange "pauzes". I've got a 512Mbit network speed and a Quad Core pc with 4Gb. It's not due to my pc-config, that's for sure. Tried different Java builds, update 21 seem to work the best for me (for sure not 22).

Normal dvd's: I can't play (or see) anything with all of your SBx bulids. Some ISO's I could play before with the official build (for sure!!) -> changed to zero, I can't play none of them now.

It's driving me crazy.......!

Please provide me with the best working configuration. Java version, PMS version/build etcetera, codecs(?).. I will WIPE my hole system for it because I had enough.

Hi jpagie, thanks for the post Sorry to see that you are so frustrated, I will try to help.

I haven't noticed the pauses during playback. Can you please try to replay a file it happened with, and see if the pause happens at the same time each time?

Can you provide me a download link for one of the problematic files so I can test it myself?

As for the best working config, I haven't noticed problems with any of them. I always upgrade Java Runtime when a new one is released and they all work fine for me. I use K-Lite Mega Codec Pack but I don't think that matters for this program.

I tested the same mkv's that in official build played nonstop.
Just wiped my hole system off pms, references, roamingfiles, registerfiles etcetera, thanks to my mate Devildog and restarted a few time between.
Clean system. Reset my firewall completely. Installed JAVA platform 1.6.0_21 again. What's your advise to to next?
