Wow, I had no idea you guys were active with a "community build"! That's what happens when you leave the forum for a month I guess.

I'll volunteer to try out the new Community Build. If it makes any difference, I have a PS3 v3.41 which I plan to leave at that firmware level.
Which build should I try?

I quickly tried c29 to watch a TV episode (MKV/h264, no subs, 720p, PS3 @ 3.41 firmware) and it's working fine. Will update this post as I get around to watching more complicated stuff...

Spoke too soon, I seem to have found a bug. My interpretation of the following log is that the included version of mencoder does not support vobsub, but PMS is assuming that it does?

Client device = Sony TV Bravia EX505
Operating system: Win 7 32 Bit
Connected via power lan (devolo, 85 MBit).

Until now, it's more stable than the last version r19. In the version r19, I've got crashes of PS3MS because of more than 99 files in one folder. Now this doesn't happen.
Sometimes sound and video is stuttering by playing DVD ISO files. Maximum bitrate of files are 24 MBit, Network bitrate is at 30 MBit. But I guess, that sometimes for a short moment, the network bitrate decreases to 11 MBit. That could be a reason for the stuttering, I guess.

The patch is applied but the menconder is not yet updated because there were issues with the latest version.
We will have to use a older version like ExSport recommended, tonight I will do some testing with the version that ExSport said and update the builds.

I'm back It's great that the community is still active so I wan't get some of this work into the official build so more people can enjoy it.

I'm interested in mostly bug fixes and small enhancements, no new features, I'll leave that up to Shagrath who might be back soon.

Since you've all been testing this for a while, which patches would you consider low risk? Thanks.

It is silly that new MEncoder versions are quite problematic on some videos so my testing found that last version which worked on all of my test files was r31170. This one supports -vobsub but all recent versions have bug in -ass so you need to disable it in PMS so MEncoder will not fail. Disabling ASS/SSA doesn't mean that we will loose subtitle support, only some special formating etc. will be unavailable.

Good news : all my standard features that I use work perferctly.
- webstreaming with chocolateboys ps3enc
- DVD-Iso-streaming with MEncoder
- MPlayer Audio streaming

Sorry for the newbie question, but where can I get this r31170 MEncoder/MEncoder_MT ?

I will go ahead and try that build while we are waiting for c30.

Also, by saying "disable -ass" I assume you just mean UNchecking the checkbox which is labelled "Support ASS/SSA" ?
