First things first: I love PMS, i think it's doin' just great for media viewing / listening and kiss philosophy (keep it simple and stupid... well maybe not stupid
).To the point. I've been searching in the forum but haven't found nothing related. I have been playing matroska and avi movies without problems (not from pms though). My pc is core2duo, and so, i've checked the multicore support for mencoder and enabled both cores for transcoding. When transcoding a mkv file with h264 video track, i can see mencoder_mt in the task manager getting about 80% cpu average.
BUT i've noticed that if the video codec is vc1, pms launches regular mencoder.exe and it only gets to 50% cpu consumption, and consequently, playback gets choppy.
Is there something i am missing? any option anywhere? maybe there's a reason for such thing? It's a bug?
