Registration Issues

Postby macfixme » Sun Nov 13, 2011 5:58 pm

It took me two different accounts to try and, I think four times hitting "resend activation email" to get one welcome email. Doesn't look too good, given that there is no address to turn to until you get registered...

The first try of the second registration took over 30 Minutes to leave the server:

I wasn't able to registrate either. I simply got no registration mail although I tried again and again to resend it. But nothing was received withing weeks. And yes: I checked that it wasn't lost in some spam folder and yes I ensured that the mail address used is operational. I finally succeeded after creating a second account with a different mail address.
Well, the board software seems to be a little sticky with used mail addresses - ok. But what is really ridiculous is that any hint or faq regarding registration issues suggests to contact a boad adminisrator but corresponding contact details are only provided after having been logged in. So I would suggest to either fix that catch22 or change the help texts for registration problems into something like "If you have problems with registration then get f*****g lost".
Sorry for my outburst - but I am really annoyed!
