The official translation thread

Hello folks,
Just a quick opinion/sugestion. Would it not be better, if language file was located in program main folder, instead of implemented inside the program?
When users send translated file, you implement into next version. That means translation file is already not up to date, because this file is for previous version,that has been already released.
Also, translated words don't have the same lenght as oryginal english words. i.e RESTAST ROUTER may be twice as long in another language. Does the button on the top of the program wider itself just to fit translated word that is twice as long?

Hi Cholek,

word length can indeed be a problem in some cases. I translated PMS into German and also had to check the layout before sending the final translation file.

If you you want to have latest translation in latest betas you sometimes have to compile PMS yourself. In stable versions latest translation are always included. I have written a howto for compiling PMS. It's not that difficult. If you want to translate PMS to your favourite language you have to compile PMS to see the results. I can help you doing that.

There hasn't been a language update in PMS since end of August. Therefore I have compiled latest PMS build372 with all language updates listed in this thread since last update by redlum.

Please update Catalan language file included in zip file. There are nearly 20 messages which haven't been translated yet. Nevertheless I corrected some errors (not escaped characters) and included Catalan in the compiled version.

to do for brazilian portuguese language file:
1. Download file mentioned before, edit it with a text editor (e.g. notepad++ on Windows), save it with different language-related suffix, e.g. .br for brazil
2. upload your file to http://gussi.is/pms/index.php for syntax check
3. if everything is fine zip the file and upload it here in thread
