Wasn't sure whether to post this in this forum, or the one for alternative renderers. Apologies if this is the wrong place.
I am using PBS 1.80.0 with PMSEncoder to stream web content to my Samsung UN46D6050 TV. Some web content works fine, but some video and all podcasts fail to render on the Sammy TV with a "Not supported file format" error. I know from experience with the last DLNA server I was using (TVersity) that this generally means that the streamed media contains video or audio streams using codecs not supported by the TV. I'm guessing that PMSEncoder assumes an actual PS3 on the receiving end, and serves up media streams supported by it, but the Samsung has a different set of supported codecs. With TVersity I could tweak the renderer profile to make it transcode the media to a supported codec, but I have no idea how to do that with PMS/PMSEncoder.
Is there some way to tell PMEncoder to use a different codec than it does by default?
