PMS.conf tutorial?

Postby jumpnkick » Sat Jun 30, 2012 7:53 am

I've been usin PMS and works great but I'm havin problems to make plugins work. The truth is that probably tis me who ain't understanding the installation. I open the PMS.conf file but never know where in the file I should add the plugin configuration settings given on the in the install steps. Could somebody help me with this? I been trying to use GrooveShark, and I actually can find it in PS3, but when I search for songs I always get "there are no titles". I was goin to try with Channels plug in but was discouraged by the fact i couldn't even make grooveshark work.
SO... COULD ANYONE WRITE A STEP BY STEP CLEAR TUTORIAL ABOUT PMS.conf AND GENERAL CONFIGURATIONS OF PLUGINS?
In advance, thanx, and if this is actually somewhere o the forum or the web, please pass the links.

Did you actually open the PMS.conf?
It is filled to the brim with explanations.

yes i actually opened it, maybe it's me, but i couldn't find where to actually type the configurations in the file. I mean, for example if I copied the GS configurations right here:
# ---< Plugins >--------------------------------------------------------------

# The directory where PMS can find the plugins. Default value is "plugins".
plugins = plugins
gs_plugin.path = /users/theFACE/Documents
gs_plugin.tiny = true

would that be ok? Should the Channels configurations be there too?
Thanx

I installed Channels and thought it would work fine but I get on every content I try to play: This content cannot be played. Does this has anything to do with PS3 4.20 update?

I don't know about the configuration of the individual plugins.
Try looking up their particular threads for the details, e.g. GrooveShark.

Thanx anyway Raptor. I couldn't have anything to work to be honest, but know am pretty sure tis not my configuration. I double checked every thread (yap, still online and reading since my first post today) and nor channels nor grooveshark is working for me. I've recently updated my PS3 to 4.20, and I've read other people who installed the update are havin the same problem am havin. I think Sony must have blocked something. If there are any news, I would be thankful if you let me know.
