With me even if "definately disable subs" is checked: embedded subs are still stranscoded resulting in a mpeg-2 stream instead of AVC, so i get stuttering.

Hi marco275, I guess there is no support defined for the video in your renderer's config or you are using PMS 1.50.0 (PMS 1.50.0 does not include the patch).

TV:
External sups are not transcoded, no subs visible.

Embedded sups are transcoded if one of the audio streams is DTS. (plays fine but subs are visible?!)
Video files with embedded sups without DTS audio are not transcoded.

HTS:
External sups are not transcoded.
Embedded sups are not transcoded, and the native supported features by the HTS can be used, like:
Search on time, chapter, REW/FF, switch between audio and subtitle tracks.

Does your TV support DTS audio (a:dts)? My Samsung supports DTS, have it in the conf where necessary, and I can stream/skip/switch audio and subs, etc. Try changing subtitle language priorities to set subs to "off" (should still transcode but without subtitles).
The patch was a small step forward but there are still many problems concerning subs and automatic streaming. Thanks for the detailed test results!

I use a PS3 and the latest SVN build, 1.50.1 which I compile with the builder tool.
I noticed this behavior since this last build, what do I have to change in the config file to not let PMS render internal
subs?

I don't understand what you are solving here
If you will correctly set audio/sub preference, than it is very easy how to force or deny loading subtitles.
Fixing logic is good one but I think latest git commit fixed it? If not, aud/sub preference should help.

I don't know if you are adressing me, but i'm trying to explane that there was a recent change in de code that broke things for me.
I didn't change a thing in my settings and it always worked flawlessly.
Now of a sudden non of my MKV's work without stutter, someone definitely fixed something that wasn't broken.
I disabled all subs so remuxing instead of transcoding should work like it always did but obviously now it doesn't.
When I press the info button during playback I see mpeg-2 instead of AVC, so it's transcoding.

I use the latest one from github, I noticed it yesterday, but I don't always watch movies between updates so I don't know exactly which build broke, sorry, but I guess some two or three updates back..

Oh I think I see what your problem is marco... your conf is using "streamextensions=mkv"?

I'll post a fix shortly.

Edit: Nope, I was beating up the wrong bush. The logic is fine. What renderer are you using? Can you post your conf?

Nope StreamExtensions and TranscodeExtensions are blank, Use MediaInfo= true.
Maybe the "Improvement for stream or transcode decision logic" a few releases back did something unintentional?

Edit: Nope, I was beating up the wrong bush. The logic is fine. What renderer are you using? Can you post your conf?
